Years ago, Thomas received from his Grand-Pa the Hasselblad that he had kept through out his photographer career, stretching back to the early 50’s. Was it this Hasselblad, more than his diploma in social media, that convinced Thomas he had to live from, or rather through, photo-documentary and portray? Or was it the inspiring exchanges amongst the award-winning Belgian collective “Out-of-Focus” he had put together with his former schoolmates? Most probably Thomas doesn’t know himself, and he keep seeking the answer in those side-topics he covers with a disturbing curiosity. Those real life stories he gathered from Carpathian suburbs or Haitian sacred graves, to the post-industrial Belgian wastes or the ever-spinning Brooklyn nights, all shared a point in common. Those are the stories of men and women. Those are stories that can be sketched with words but that only well-pictured face expressions may tell with precision.

Gabrielle Nina is freelance journalist based in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She writes on health, climate change, infrastructure , agriculture and gender. She was also one of the health correspondents of Voice of America. She was previously a fellow for the International Journalism Program, spending two months in Germany, and was an intern at Deutsche Welle in Bonn. She reported on the dire transformation of a quiet residence area into a mining field boom, with attentive environmental and social impacts in Kolwezi, in mineral rich east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. USAID-Funded and World Resources Institute funded my geo-journalism grant. She was in South Congo, investigating why amid a mining resource boom, electricity is scarce. I unraveled the corrupt connection of mining corporations and energy cartels. She followed up on this theme as one of five journalists investigating energy poverty and potential solutions in sub-Saharan Africa for the 2017 Access to Energy Journalism Fellowship detailing how energy shortage is vortex mixed with climate change and resource mining. She went further and reported to expose how high level of corruption in Congo´s election allegedly saw senators and lawmakers exchanging “gifts” and cash for election set bargaining

Dareck TUBAZAYA BUBAKUIZA alias Dareck-TUBA est né en République démocratique du Congo dans la ville de Kinshasa en 1985. Après avoir parcouru deux différentes institut des arts, il a décidé d’apprendre le métier de l’audiovisuel en autodidacte. En 2008 il a participé à un projet d’immigration dont il a réalisé une affiche de trois photos pour la campagne. Depuis lors il travaille essentiellement comme cameraman et photographe freelance en RDCongo ainsi qu’à l’étranger. En 2009, avec Pius ils créèrent une ASBL LONGI studio pour accompagner le projet à caractère humanitaire. Il a travaillé notamment avec, Save the Children pour la réalisation des 6 vidéos de 5 min sur le genre et famille. Avec Roland Verbiest pour les photos du livre « BLAU HOUT » et réalisa un le film documentaire « KO KATISA EBALE YA CONGO ». Sa thématique est de rendre visible ce qui est invisible aux autres au travers ses images. En 2014 il a rencontré Renzo Martens (Réalisateur du documentaire Enjoy Poverty) pour un projet documentaire « Return of the white Cube » le tournage a duré 4 ans, le film sortira en 2019. Ces derniers moi, il a entrepris une série de photos sur les anciens bâtiments colonial en RDCongo. Dareck TUBA anime et coordonne régulièrement des ateliers sur la prise de vue vidéo et photo dans différents ONG et organiser de work shop avec LONGI studio. Actuellement il travail avec plusieurs télévisions étrangères, euronew, vpro et autre. ainsi qu'avec les intuitions international baser en RDC.
