I am Ivan Charalambous (b. 1984), from Cyprus. I studied documentary filmmaking in Kenya, Italy and Poland with a European Commission scholarship, Multimedia Production at the University of Nicosia and I took seminars on cinematography, sound recording and mixing, storyboarding and more. I have worked as a freelancer for most of my life, starting as a stage and light designer for theatre productions and producer and art director for commercials. I transitioned to documentary and news in 2010 and since then I had the opportunity to work with many big agencies and organisations, such as UN, PBS, Al Jazeera, ARD, BBC and many more. Since 2018 I have been a founding member of Strawberry Heights Films in Cyprus, offering video production services for news networks and corporate clients worldwide. I am offering full services for documentary, commercial and news productions, from concept to delivery, for up to 4K productions, including aerial footage.

David Hands is an award-winning filmmaker living in Cyprus. He began his career as a professional photographer in 1989 and in 1991 he joined a production house and worked as a Director of Photography for commercials. In 1993, at the age of 24, he moved into news and documentaries as a cameraman/editor and sound recordist, firstly working for ABC News (US) during the Bosnian war, before moving to Kenya, where he worked for four years covering major news stories and documentaries in East and Central Africa, mostly for the BBC, Reuters, WTN and Swiss TV. After a short time in Australia, where he filmed his first short fiction movie on film, he moved to Jerusalem, where he worked for five years covering the Middle East region, for Dutch and German TV as a cameraman, editor, and producer. In 2003, he moved back to Cyprus and became a partner at Crewhouse Media, a film and video production house specializing in documentaries, news production, and short fiction films. He has worked on a number of international documentaries in Cyprus, Israel, Egypt, Sweden, Iceland, Greece, the UK, and Chile. He has a chapter in the Focal Press publication: Roll! Shooting TV News (USA, 2007) authored by Rich Underwood, was a contributing author in the Jacana Publication: Something to write home about (South Africa, 2005) and was the featured photographer in Anev magazine (Cyprus, 2014). Aside from his everyday projects as a film-maker, David also leads training workshops for Media professionals, school teachers, as well as film courses for children and he is a regular training consultant for Thomson Foundation. He is also a part-time lecturer in documentary production at the University of Nicosia. He is a board member of the International Children’s Film Festival of Cyprus and a member of the European Documentary Network and the Directors Guild of Cyprus.

I am a Zambian born raised in Cyprus. From my beginning in music production the leap to Photography & Cinematography came naturally as i first became a virtuoso in Post Production mainly in editing, colouring digital sound and image mastering. My need to express through sound and images is the driving force that pushes me to new fields and heights. Through cadetship in various industries (Television, Audio Studios, Film Studios), i have honed my skill set in traditional set techniques and combined it with my wide knowledge of many audio visual fields both practical and technical then fused it with modernist art sensibilities. This has allowed me to cultivate and engage in a wide range of story telling tools. Im always learning, constantly improving and cannot rest easy until i have manifested my passion for stunning visuals and sound into reality.
