I grew up in Chicago where I was exposed to the arts and the action. I attended school in Arizona where I was exposed to place based education and storytelling. I have a journalism background with some experience working in the busy news environment. I have created several documentaries, as well as hundreds of broadcast news stories that shine light on the importance of community and the camera as the weapon of voice.

My passion for communication and media began when I was a high schooler. I decided to major in English Translation as an undergraduate student. I mustered up all my courage and efforts to master my language skills. I then applied for a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While there, volunteering for radio stations which facilitated my way of being admitted to the journalism graduate program at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. There, I was news director at KVSC 88.1 FM and produced a lot of podcasts and audio packages as well as written stories. I also gained a lot of hands-on experience in video-shooting and editing by reporting for the school's television station i.e. UTVS. I dare to say that my skills are as competitive as that of a reporter for a public/private television or radio station. In nutshell, I can report and produce stories and documentaries on my own for radio and television as well as print.

As an international videographer and former travel show host, I've released more than 30 films from 43 countries on four continents. As a university professor of journalism and documentary studies, I've taught everything from cinematography and nonfiction film production, to podcasting and multimedia design. And as a business owner, I've founded two production companies (Moving Stills Media, and Legally Insane Films). My latest documentary, Big Trouble in Little Quartzsite, has won 9 awards in the 2021-2022 film festival circuit, including Best Feature, Best Director and Unanimous Jury Selection.
