Dougal Brownlie is the owner and an award winning visual storyteller of Brownlie Creative, LLC who specializes in stills and motion in the commercial and editorial fields. Brownlie currently works out of the greater Seattle area with coverage of the Pacific Northwest, Vancouver, British Columbia as well as domestically and internationally as needed. Brownlie was previously working as a staff photojournalist for the Gazette along the Front Range in Colorado Springs. A Washington state native and graduate of Brooks Institute in Southern California, Brownlie started his professional career after graduating college in 2015 and working in Northwest Missouri for the St. Joseph News-Press an hour from the country’s best BBQ and Kansas City, Missouri. The newspaper positions have required Brownlie to work long hours in a very competitive environment, with little room for error, and to collaborate as part of a broader team of professionals to get the job done in a timely manner. With the experience of being a staff photographer in the newspaper environment, Brownlie was required to cover almost every imaginable topic, including environmental and studio portraits, event coverage, professional and college athletics, and piloting various self-initiated long-term projects and stories. He is well-equipped to handle most any task that may be asked of him in a professional, courteous and timely manner. His dedication to the craft has been acknowledged by industry professionals with high praise and accolades at the state, regional, and international levels. Brownlie attended the Eddie Adams Workshop in Jeffersonville, New York in October of 2015 as part of the class of XXVIII working under the guidance of the sports industry's best of Al Bello, Brad Smith and Robert Caplin. In 2016 he attended the 68th edition of Missouri Photo Workshop on a full-ride scholarship where it was held in the small town of 3,500 people; Cuba, Missouri. He is always open for freelance assignments and is always willing to travel for assignments.
