Living and working in Berlin, I am originally from Brittany, France. In 2012, I graduated with a Master's degree in American Studies and Film Studies, focusing my research on the road movie genre and the impact of technology and mediated images on our perception of reality. In 2015, I joined Manifesto Film as production coordinator and later on as editor of the documentary CAUSE OF DEATH: UNKNOWN by Anniken Hoel: a global investigation on the psychiatric pharmaceutical industry. The film premiered at CPH:DOX in 2017. I then collaborated with Mattima Film as editor of DIAGNONSENSE, by Ane-Martha Tamnes Hansgard: a self-reflexive documentary with a critical look at the diagnostic system in psychiatry. The film is currently in post-production. In parallel, I joined the interdisciplinary theatre production Costa Compagnie with editing, live projection, writing and performance. As part of that collaboration, I edited Independence (2023) by director Felix Meyer-Christian which won the award for Best Documentary at the Film Festival Max Ophüls Preis.

Jury statement Film Critics’ Prize – BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM: When a documentary film sets itself the task of filling an abstract concept with life, it is an almost insoluble challenge. A young Afro-German woman from Berlin goes in search of her roots. In the process, not only is the chequered relationship between the GDR and Mozambique made clear, but above all the question of identity, belonging and independence is raised. Based on this personal story, the successful essay film traces other independence movements, lets people from South Sudan have their say, from Catalonia, Great Britain and also from Bavaria. The struggle for independence, be it Brexit or the national Bavarian party, is neither judged nor ridiculed, but taken seriously. By playing out independence on three levels, the personal, the political and the symbolic on the theatre stage, the film develops a tremendous pull and thus appears unstrained and immediate. Only when the question of belonging is clarified can one be truly independent.

A self-reflexive meta-documentary, DIAGNONSENSE begins with filmmaker Ane-Martha Tamnes Hansgård who was diagnosed with multiple mental disorders over a fifteen-year period, and prescribed a staggering number of psychotropic medications. Ten years ago, she embarked on the first of many attempts to make a film about living with a mental disorder, but each effort was cut short due to new diagnoses, new medications, and new side effects. Now, having weaned herself off the drugs, and reaching a critical distance from her diagnoses, she is ready to tell her story, and to challenge the need for psychological labeling.
