I am a consummate professional, passionate artist, and storyteller who has for the last 14 years been deeply immersed in content development for international nonprofits and development impact causes in Eastern and Southern Africa. My work telling development and humanitarian stories in Eastern and Southern Africa has been globally published, most notable being my coverage of the impact of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique that was published by CNN, BBC, The New York Times, Aljazeera, Sky News, The Guardian and a host of other media outlets. I started out in brand and marketing communications, working with a number of agencies before branching off to specialize in film production and photography. My experience spans television, documentary, and film production in a plethora of roles ranging from fixing and field producing to impact producing and directing.

Farmers in Kenya’s southern Kwale county who had turned to logging and quarrying after prolonged drought have been harvesting a variety of crops over the past few weeks thanks to an early-action distribution of specialized seeds by the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS). The Kenya Drought Early Action Protocol Light Activation, supported by the British and Dutch Red Cross, began in October 2022 with the distribution to 1,500 Kwale farmers of three types of drought-tolerant and disease-resistant seeds: green grams, cowpeas, and sorghum.
