About
Jialu is a Chinese media professional based in the Netherlands. At the age of 21 her documentary ‘Alive’ won the Best Documentary Awards in 7th Beijing International Collegiate Video & Film Festival and was screened in 29th VGIK in Russia and 23rd FIPA in France in 2009. From 2010 until 2014, she worked as the production manager for CCTV6 China Movie Channel, in charge of ‘World Film Report’ a weekly program & daily news production, featuring the diversity of the international cinema through on-site shooting and live coverage. Jialu filmed over 70 episodes of TV programs in 40 different countries, including the live report from the Oscar's red carpet, Cannes, Venice and Berlinale film festivals. Since 2014, she worked as a freelancer for multiple media and film companies including Caixin, Phoenix TV, Cinephilia, Media Aisa Film, Merken Bezielen, Weda and Rwanda film festival. She graduated from University of Amsterdam with a MA in political communication.

Behind the Salt- Documentary
The documentary sees through small crystals from the rise of the first cities to the downfall of empires to unravel a part of human history that was hidden in the power of salt. The documentary program featured Guo Chuan, the renowned Chinese sailor, and his adventure of revisiting the maritime Silk Road with his 97-foot Trimaran “Qingdao China”. Guo and his international crew of five from Russia, Germany and France spend 60 days on the sea sailing from Qingdao to Monaco through Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Mumbai, Alexandria in Egypt and Genova in Italy.
