About
Maurício Fidalgo, 1989, was born in Rio Grande do Sul state, south of Brazil, but had lived in six different states. Graduated in the Bahia State University on the Multimedia Journalism course in 2014, In 2014 moved from the countryside to Rio de Janeiro, there had his pictures published in big national and international media, also collaborates with Vice News Brazil. He has been selected to be part of Abril Journalism Course, one of the three biggest courses in journalism on Brazil, part of Abril publisher owner of the second biggest magazine in the world, Veja. In 2016 he started to work in Globo Television, 3rd biggest TV Media in the world, as a still and portrait photographer. Last year he concluded a year and a half directors course in Darcy Ribeiro cinema School At the moment he is developing audio visual projects.

Calais - France - Refugee Camp
I have spend 6 days in Calais, 4 of them sleeping in the Jungle. Sleeping with the immigrants, I have been able to shoot the daily life on the jungle, to know their histories and photograph some of them. The difficulty of photographing them is know to everyone that have get in touch with them in the jungle. For that reason I have used a small equipment a 24mm 2.8 lens on a cropped body, partof pic

The Bento Rodrigues dam disaster occurred on 5 November 2015, when an iron ore tailings dam in Bento Rodrigues, a subdistrict of Mariana, Brazil, suffered a catastrophic failure,causing flooding and at least 17 deaths.At least 16 people have been injured. About 60 million cubic meters of iron waste flowed into the Doce River. Toxic brown mudflows reached the Atlantic Ocean in 17 days.
