Emily Grandcolas is a documentary filmmaker and photographer who holds a B.A. in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California. Grandcolas is known for her coordinating and producing work on international projects and pressing domestic documentaries. Her work has been on display on NPR's Latino USA, PBS, the Gayle and Ed Roski Master of Fine Arts Gallery, the USC Fisher Museum of Art, film festivals such as the Sarasota and UNAFF Film Festivals and on the site Girls Will be Girls.
The small town of Oberlin, Ohio houses the country’s third-busiest Air Traffic Control Center. When the Federal Government shuts down for 35 days, the town’s citizens face the uncertain prospects of a freezing winter and the increasing potential of an imminent crisis.
In a fading Georgia town, a community recalls its dark past and faces a grim present. An undocumented immigrant, caught in legal limbo and facing deportation, contemplates his future. In the midst of it all, a massive, private immigration prison generates millions in profits. Where these stories meet, the hidden epicenter of America’s immigration crackdown is revealed—a place called Lumpkin, GA.
