I am a self shooting Director/editor based in Nairobi, Kenya. I have been making films throughout Africa and the developing world for over 10 years. Prior to this I was working for the BBC and various independent documentary companies in the UK. I have produced a multitude of engaging and challenging broadcast and non-broadcast programmes. I have made films for Channel Four, Al Jazeera, BBC World, the United Nations, Righteous Pictures and many NGO's. These have ranged from one-off films on subjects as diverse as FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) in Kenya (UNICEF), Genocide atrocities/refugee resettlement in Congo (Arts Engine/PBS) and Kenya's Kickboxing Grannies (Global Post) to series on 'Neglected Diseases' in Africa (United Nations) and 'Super Vets' (BBC) in the UK. I have also worked on feature length films including 'Pushing the Elephant' and 'The Last Survivor', both of which have picked up awards in film festivals in the US and Europe. READ MORE
Shujaaz is a multi-media platform that aims to help improve the lives and livelihoods of young people in East Africa - I have made two films for Shujazz, through which Shujazz won two International Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2014 for its innovative multi-channel approach to story-telling and audience engagement. This is the 2014 film.

Two lawsuits have been filed against the Ugandan government for alleged negligence in the handling of nodding disease which has killed at least 200 children since 2009 and currently affects 3,500 others, according to the Ministry of Health.
