In 2010, after being laid off from his advertising job during the economic crisis that started in 2008, he subsequently became a self-employed audiovisual creator, dedicating himself 100% to video production and creation. As a content creator, Diogo produces narratives, documentaries, music videos, video content for advertising and marketing campaigns, corporate videos, live events, staff videos and internal communication, promotional videos and news He is also a certified trainer and has provided training and consulting services in film and audiovisual creation since 2006. Diogo was outstanding from start to finish, my project required careful planning, strategy, flexibility, and communication. Diogo excelled in all requirements and then some that I did not even consider. The photos and video required discreet shooting from a distance as well as closeups and aerial video which I am excited to see. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional as he defines the word perfectly.

"SIKAT SUBAR" is my first feature film (1h:35m long). I had the privilege of producing and directing this film between 2018 and 2019, spending several months in Timor-Leste to capture the essence of the country and its rich cultural heritage. This film delves into the world of cockfighting in Timor-Leste and its impact on society. As the original creator, producer, director, and cinematographer of the documentary film "SIKAT SUBAR", I was responsible for bringing this compelling story to life. I filmed and directed the entire project, including capturing stunning aerial footage using drone technology, capturing high-speed images, and capturing clear audio recordings, and all other aspects of film production. The post-production was completed in collaboration with Portuguese film studio FilmesDaMente. Futu manu (it means cockfight in Tetum) is a tradition in Timor-Leste that started hundreds / thousands of years ago. Some archaeologists believe that cockfight started in Western Asia, due to archeological findings in Timor-Leste that date more than 3000 years ago. Cockfighting is a prevalent activity in Timor-Leste and plays a significant role in the country's cultural and economic landscape. The contests are often held in conjunction with various rituals and ceremonies and serve as a primary source of livelihood for many families. The venues are located in the capital city of Díli and offer daily contests that start in the afternoon and continue until nightfall. This male-dominated activity attracts individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Even though Cockfighting is banned in many countries for its cruelty, it is rooted and thrives as the national hobby in Timor-Leste. With more than 40% of the population living with less than $0.55 per day, many people turn to futu manu as a quick way to earn (or lose) money. "Foreigners do not realize that", one participant said.
