My name is Benson Nyaga, born and bred in Kenya. I am a professional camera operator having trained up to Diploma level, am passionate about telling community related stories visually as a freelancer. Previously I was working with one of the local TV stations as a correspondent and this helped me gain a lot of experience in gathering and shooting short films for transmission. With a long-term experience in video camera operations, my major passion is within photography and video recording and editing. Currently am a freelancer determined to developing stories that will change the community that i live in.
This was a feature story is shot as a correspondent and it included covering the process rice takes from the nursery to the mill, I covered cultivation of the land, planting, how it is taken care of and eventually how it is harvested.
This is a story i shot for MT KENYA TV concerning one of the roads in Nyeri County that has caused a lot of deaths through accidents. The area residents had been complaining for long since they wanted bumps to be constructed to reduce the speed with which the vehicles were moving with downhill. The story is narrated using one of the local dialects (Kikuyu), the story elicited a lot of emotions,
This is a farming program i shot on goats that are rich in production in Murang'a which is the Central region Kenya, my role was video shooting and to make sure all the video footage are in sequence for the editor.
