Sofie Kerklaan (1990) studied Media & Culture at the University of Amsterdam. She specialized with a Masters degree in Documentary. After several internships at Discovery Channel The Netherlands, Interakt (a documentary production firm) and NPO Doc (the biggest documentary broadcaster of The Netherlands) she started education in Research Journalism. Sofie developed herself as a cross media journalist. In her documentaries, photo reportages and articles Sofie focuses on the (seemingly) ordinary lives of humans, as well in The Netherlands as abroad. Very detailed she investigates larger themes that underlie personal stories.
