I am a bilingual journalist skilled in producing, reporting, writing, and editing. I have worked with California State University's Titan Communications as a reporter, producer, and editor for their programs such as OC News and Al Día, Titan Weekly, The Report, and InFocus. I have also previously worked with Univision as a production assistant for their Destino 2020 Town Hall and "Real America" Democratic Presidential Forum.
California State University, Fullerton's InFocus is a campus-based talked show focusing on educators and individuals who are striving to better their community. In this episode, we interview the president of California State University, Fullerton, Fram Virjee. This episode was filmed while mandatory stay-at-home orders were put in place. I was one of the producers and the editor of this episode.
This multi-media story is in the process of being published on California State University, Fullerton's Titan Universe website. I interviewed women's rights activists living in Mexico about their first-hand experience of dealing with rising rates of femicide during a pandemic. This project shows my versatility in being able to write for print journalism, create graphics, and produce news videos.
Al Día IGTV is a recap of what's happening and what's trending during the week in only a few minutes. Our main audience is Latino so we use Spanglish in our writing. We strive to make it as creative as possible using props and conversations tones to engage the viewer. I executive produced, wrote for, directed, and helped edit this episode.
