Jaya Productions sprang to life in the vibrant tech mecca of Seattle, WA in 2001. The early days included launching huge brands through direct to consumer such as Oxiclean, Sonicare, and George Foreman Grill. As the company matured, it grew into the broadcast space, editing and finishing shows airing on networks like A&E, HGTV, and History. Times change, and in recent years we’ve launched into corporate and commercial video, with work for Amazon, Real Networks, PATH, US Dept. of Energy, King County, Microsoft, and our largest client, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. We bring our passion for storytelling and our love of connecting people with those stories, to every project.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation CEO, Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellmann recounts her recent trip back to Uganda Cancer Institute. She worked at UCI in 1989, 1990, and 1991 with her husband. I was tasked with recording audio and local video for this story, and weaving together the story with Instagram as a primary platform. I then reformatted the edit to 16:9 for LinkedIn and Facebook.

This project was challenging because of it's very short timeline and loose direction from the client. I was given some B-Roll and footage of children saying their names and was asked to try to tell the story with those elements. I came up with the concept on Friday afternoon and had a finished video in the clients hands Monday by noon. The video was extremely well received by the client.
