My name is Juliana, but you can call me Ju. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and now I'm living in San Diego, California. At age 15 I got my first camera and fell in love with photography. A few years later I started traveling the world looking for something new to do. In 2010, I quit my job as a product designer and went to live in Indonesia, where I started working professionally with outdoor photography and videography. Since then, I've worked with some of the most talented Brazilian surfers and athletes from other sports, producing content for their sponsors and for a Sports/Travel TV channel in Brazil. It's been 8 years since I decided to explore different fields of cinematography including; Fashion, luxury hotel videos, short films and documentaries. In addition, even thought I've always been focused on sports photography the last 4 years I've been expanding my portfolio to some other fields like fashion, travel photography, lifestyle and Fine Art. I always create with a meaningful message because all my inspiration comes from my heart. Inspiring people and spreading the good word is what I like to do the most. I definitely see better through my camera, because I see beauty everywhere. Being able to make special moments last forever and share inspiring stories is one of my biggest motivations.

Nā Kama Kai (Children of the Ocean) is a short documentary about a non-profit’s mission to empower youth through ocean-based education, with the goal of cultivating environmental stewardship and building future community leaders. While traveling to Brazil for their first international clinic, participants quickly realize the many ways the ocean connects us rather than divides us.
