I am a Canadian freelance reporter and video journalist based in Berlin, Germany, with extensive international experience. I have contributed to Euronews, NBC, Deutsche Welle, The Daily Beast, The Times of London and BBC, among many others. I shoot and edit video, write for online/print outlets and do radio reports. I was previously based in Istanbul, which I still frequently report on, and in Ukraine, covering the war from both sides of the frontline. Previous to that, I was based in Budapest, London and Toronto. I have done on-air interviews with Sky, BBC (TV and Radio), France 24, Al Jazeera, CBC and Monocle Radio. I previously worked as a news producer and writer for CBC and CTV in Toronto and as a news producer for Sky in London. I have a MA in journalism from the University of Western Ontario and Honours BA with distinction from the University of Toronto, specialising in political science.

Kristina tracked down a girl who we shot at the height of the refugee crisis for this fantastic follow up. It involved a lot of research and travelling time, but she got the story. We were consistently impressed by the quality of her journalism, and would not hesitate to use her again.
I pitched, produced, shot and edited this video for The Daily Telegraph. I also wrote an accompanying written story for it.

I pitched and shot this video of a teenage Syrian girl fleeing a camp in Hungary in search of her parents. It received over a million views on Facebook. Six months later, I tracked her down at a refugee camp in Germany where I did a follow-up piece for AJ+.

I produced this story for BBC on a Turkish business that has gone global. It has created an app that directly connects companies with secret shoppers who carry out market research. I found the contacts, did the interviews and helped direct the shots. I also wrote an accompanying feature http://www.bbc.com/news/business-41817820
A feature on an opaque commission run by the Turkish government for people to get their jobs back after being purged post-coup.
