I’m a freelance journalist obsessed with borders and everything that crosses them. Born in Barcelona, based in Nairobi, I write about nationalism, migration and trafficking of all kinds. My work lives on NPR, OZY, CNN, USAToday, HuffPo, NatGeo News and others. My reporting has taken me from the shores of Lampedusa, where I profiled the mayor bearing the brunt of the European refugee crisis, to walled compounds along the Turkish-Syrian border, where I went behind the scenes of the Syrian opposition’s struggle for survival. These days, I spend most of my time in East Africa but I have lived in Spain, France, Italy and the U.K. working towards a double major in political science and international relations as well as a MA in international journalism at City University, London. I speak fluent English, French, Spanish, Catalan and Italian.
