I'm a wildlife biologist turned environmental journalist and documentary filmmaker. I have reported via video, print and photo for the Associated Press in Johannesburg and Al Jazeera America and KQED in California. I recently directed, produced, filmed and edited a short documentary about a monopoly in the fishing industry that is crushing small-scale fishermen. The film was awarded the CINE Golden Eagle Award for Best Documentary and the Margaret & William Hearst Award for Excellence in Documentary Film. Currently I am working on an independent documentary about the unraveling of science censorship in Canada. I'm an excellent shooter, specializing in verite and action-oriented scenes; I am also skilled at connecting with characters and creating intimacy within a scene. I am also fluent in AVID and Adobe Premiere.

CINE Golden Eagle Award Winner. Small-scale fishermen in British Columbia are dying off as large companies maintain a firm grip on licenses and price, paying fishermen less and less as the market price of fish rises. A young fisherman bypasses the traditional route of selling to large corporations and uses technology to instill transparency into a broken food system. Inquire for link to full film.
