I am a documentary filmmaker and visual anthropologist based between Rio and Porto. I have more than 15 years' experience as a film/video editor, director/director assistant, image curator, and researcher. In 2010, I have founded my own audiovisual company through which I am commissioned as a freelance filmmaker. My 1st documentary The Way I See Today was awarded the Richard Werbner Award for Visual Ethnography and it is now part of the Ethnocineca Film Series at the Weltmuseum Wien. I have an MPhil in Ethnographic Documentary and I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Social Anthropology with Visual Media at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester. I am used to working as a sole trader and as a team leader. Proficient in Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Office applications. Multilingual in Portuguese (Native), English (Advanced), Spanish (Conversational and Reading), and French (Reading).
The critically acclaimed film City of God (2002) is a fiction film based on a novel about a real place known as Cidade de Deus (City of God), located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Through the perspective of multiple local voices, the awarded ethnographic documentary The Way I See Today focuses on the symbolic and real-life effects produced by these fictional narratives.
Four Oceans composes Daniel Wurtzel's art installation on the ever-changing nature of the Earth's climate (soundtrack at the museum). Key responsibilities: . Curate archive and stock footage and license each image; . Direct the video editing and graphic interventions in the editing suite; . Take care of all the technical aspects of the video installation in loco.
This is the 1st episode of a 42-episode docu-series (organized in 3 seasons) I have edited in 2017 (Curta! Channel). I was also the editor-in-chief of the TV series, i.e. I have created the entire editorial line, edited the intro and outro, and supervised the work of assistants.
