Aid agency Medecins Sans Frontieres is seeking to invoke a never-used body to investigate the US bombing of its hospital in the Afghan city of Kunduz. MSF chief Joanne Liu said they did not trust internal military inquiries into the bombing that killed at least 22 people. The number of people living as refugees from war or persecution exceeded 50 million in 2013, for the first time since World War Two, the UN says. The overall figure of 51.2 million is six million higher than the year before, a report by the UN refugee agency says. Antonio Guterres, head of the UNHCR, told the BBC "the world is becoming more violent and people are being forced to flee".
