Hello, my name is Alex and I am currently a undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying journalism. I am originally from the Bay Area, California. I am primarily a photo journalist and video journalist but I am also able to write and create audio stories as well. Topics I have covered includes news, features, profiles, event coverage, lifestyle and health. In the future, I would like to continue creating original content that is not only relevant but also interesting and useful. I enjoy reading the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and National Geographic.
I was assigned to take photos of one of the game during the Babe Ruth Northern California State Championship Tournament. During the game, I focused on trying to capture the perfect moment and movement. Out of about 500 photos, this was the best one I got.
The Youth Advisory Council had a Spaghetti Feed at the Foster City Recreation Center. I enjoyed how everyone interacted and being able to capture genuine emotion.
On July 24, Obama left Bay Area through SFO. I was assigned to take photos of his departure about two days before. It was my first time receiving an actual press pass and being escorted by the secret service. There was a lot of waiting around but it was a very cool experience.
