About Douglas

I'm a video journalist from Brazil currently working for Folha de S.Paulo, the biggest newspaper in the country. I'm mostly a video editor, but I also produce, hunt for stories, shoot and do post-production for my colleague's videos. Besides that, I finalize the TV show we are now airing on TV Cultura, a public broadcast channel from the São Paulo state. As a reporter, I like produce strong social stories, with one or two main characters conducting the narrative. I try, every time a can, to develop a cinema-like feeling to the video, using soundtrack, strong focus on intellectual montage and well constructed scrips. I fell that, although many of the current video journalism stories are very well told and with almost any loose ends, they all lack a emotional tone to transform a "news audience" into a "entertainment audience". I truly believe that this can be done with the same resources and without losing content.
