He used to work with The Myanmar Times from the early of 2015 to early of 2021 with the roles: Photojournalist, Multimedia Producer and Head of Multimedia. Aung Khant Si Thu contributed many freelance works to international media and organizations such as ABC Australia, AFP, TRT, Kyodo News, KBS, Sky News UK, EU, Amnesty International, JICA, GIZ, etc.
UN's human rights monitor for Myanmar has described a mass killing that Sky News has been investigating as having "all the hallmarks of a war crime". At least 37 people died on Christmas Eve in one of the worst attacks since last year’s military coup.

At least 2,700 pro-democracy activists and civilians have been killed, and more than 13,600 detained, since the junta took over. The country's leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, was jailed for 33 years in a series of trials that were closed to journalists and independent observers. Civil resistance has continued against the military takeover, with torture, mass killings and the burning of villages by soldiers that are accused of cooperating with opposition activists. On top of that, the junta generals are accused of organising the genocide of the minority Rohingya, forcing them out of the country.
