These three stories are part of The Collaborators series, a journalistic project about the current role of women in Central American gangs carried out by El Intercambio, financed by Internews, and published completely in partnership with eldiario.es, InSight Crime and Paralelo, the chapter of Guatemala in Nómada, and the one about El Salvador, in BBC Mundo.
Jailed kids shows how many and how do the children live in prisons of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, meanwhile their mothers are imprisoned. The project was financed by Seattle Foundation and Ford Foundation. It is a four chapters project and only the story about the babysitters was made by Bryan Avelar, from Revista Factum.
A data driven and narrative series about the inequality in Guatemala´s education. A comparison between three schools demonstrates that inequality is not theory and the more money you have, the better results you get. The project was published in the guatemalan printed edition of Publinews and the multimedia version in the site of El Intercambio, with Oxfam funds.
