Vashi defected from Czechoslovakia as a child during the Cold War and grew up in Toronto & Detroit. Following his career as a professional hockey player, he has been a professional film editor in Los Angeles since 2000. Vashi has edited 11 feature films including “6 BELOW: Miracle on the Mountain,” the global phenomenon “Sharknado 2,” the comedy “An American Carol” for director David Zucker (Airplane, Scary Movie) & PTSD documentary “That Which I Love Destroys Me” for director Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen, Snitch). Vashi has cut over 50 national commercials for numerous brands including Nike, Volkswagen, Ford, NHL, EA Sports, Adobe, Medal of Honor, US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Reserve & the US Air Force. His company VashiVisuals has provided post-production workflow, consulting services and Premiere Pro training for numerous projects including Deadpool, Gone Girl, The Good Doctor and House of Cards. Vashi has also trained over 100 fellow ACE film editors in Premiere Pro.

THE SEED is a minimalistic sci-fi live-action short film set on a post-apocalyptic Earth. One survivor of a global battle with invaders from another world may have found a way to save the human race and the planet on his journey across the wasteland. I was the director / cinematographer / editor of the film and knew that we needed VFX shots that were out of my capabilities to create. We embraced Unreal Engine and Virtual Production (VP) to create THE SEED.
As the Editorial Consultant on DEADPOOL, I created the film’s post production workflow utilizing Adobe’s Premiere Pro and After Effects for editorial. I trained the film’s editor, Julian Clarke, as well as 5 other members of the post production team in the best practices of an Adobe workflow.
