Matthew Hood is a documentary filmmaker and photographer, focusing on nature, wildlife and exploration. His work aims to document and illustrate remote subjects through compelling and powerful imagery. He is truly in his element when immersed in nature, working with natural light and capturing the beauty of the area. With degrees in Cinema & Communications and Photography, he has a strong foundation of both the conceptual and technical aspects of the visual medium. His passion for optical exploration has led him to innovative and experimental film techniques and integrate these skills to both small and large scale films. His in-depth knowledge of the full production process allows him to formulate and visualize the image and carry it through post-production. Matthew was great to work with and filmed with us for ten days, for a half -hour CNN travel show in Quebec. Prior to our shoots, he was easy to communicate with and very helpful. While on the ground, Matthew had a keen and creative eye and also helped me book a last minute segment for the show, when one segment fell through. I look forward to working with him again!
