This was the beginning of the season for Formula Drift and I was tasked to go shoot for Ryan Tuerck, a driver, and cover the event for him in the paddock and how he does during the event. This is one of my favorite forms of photography, mixing in my love for shooting cars and people in a documentary fashion. Ryan ended up winning the event in a wild turn of events and it was truly an incredible experience to be there to witness and capture it all.
An example of my wedding photography work that I started during the pandemic - I used to shoot elopements to full size weddings - I even had a service in which I would be the minister who would marry the couple and then at the end of the ceremony I would run to the end of the aisle with my camera, pronounce them husband and wife, get their first kiss shot, and then turn into a photographer for the rest of the day. It was fun with the right couples! Ultimately I realized that this was not my true passion and pivoted away from the wedding industry when I moved to Los Angeles. This example is a full size wedding that was one of the last that I did with an amazing couple, Roseanne and Joe, and was probably my most favorite to shoot because I had a genuine connection with the couple. They were very sweet, Joe and I connected on cars, and Roseanne is simply a riot that made me laugh all the time. This project still puts a smile on my face when I see them and their family so happy on their wedding day.

This business needed to attract more clients and were thinking to "just make content" for social media but didn't have an idea of how to do that. They hired me to help figure that out. I created this idea to put the shop in an elevated position of being experts, while also being very friendly and open to the audience watching, talking with them and not down to them if that makes sense. The look and feel is all intentional: I wanted people viewing it to feel that they were a fly on the wall or that they were there with us doing the job. Anti-goals were to make it stiff, or talking down the audience - the audience would be carried with us as if they were a friend. We focused this video on one of the most complex jobs that all of these e46 generation M3's need and tried to break it down so that if you wanted to try and attempt this you could, but if you didn't, you got to know the shop and the mechanic, Emil, so well that you would be inclined to call the shop to have Emil do it for you. We created a youtube channel, uploaded this film that I wrote, directed, produced, filmed and edited, and the youtube algorithm took it from there. It did 20k views within 2 weeks and gained them about 250 followers with over 100 very positive comments.
