Located in Narowal-Pakistan, Kartarpur has seen its fair share of fighting during the wars as it is located close to the border. However, this documentary depicts the landmark; Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartar Pur, in its true essence. It is a shrine to the founder of the Sikh religion, Baba Guru Nanak Ji, who established Kartarpur and lived here to his last day. The documentary exemplifies coexistence of religious minorities in Pakistan through a realistic depiction of the Sikh minority celebrating their religion at Gurdawara Darbar Sahib Kartar Pur. It is also a documentation of the peace and harmony among general populace within a misconstrued society.
Umair Ahmad Khawaja is a documentary filmmaker who is currently making short films about the Sikh community in Pakistan. While there are many issues here, he admits, there are also many people who are keen to foster love and harmony, and to protect our wonderful cultural heritage.
On my journey of educating through documentary films, here is a narrative of the historic city of Lahore. This journey is a kin to the city's evolution through history and the ever changing perception of culture.
