Alexis Duran is an award-winning filmmaker and educator. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Film+Digital Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an MFA in Film and TV Production at San Diego State University. Alexis has a background in TV news broadcasting where he's worked for NBC San Diego 7 as an operations technician. Bret Hamilton, born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, has always been passionate about creating captivating entertainment for those around him. Pursuing this passion, he left his hometown to study cinematography at Columbia College Chicago. In September 2016, Bret moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (formerly Saigon). My name is Justin Nijm and I am an Arab-American filmmaker. I specialize in directing as well as producing features and videos. I recently completed a short horror film for 20th Century Digital called "The Hug" and am currently in development on the feature. "Grasshoppers" is an indie feature I produced starring Saleh Bakri and premiered at the Bend Film Festival in Oregon. It plays next at the Bahamas International Film Festival and Cinequest. I worked as a staff director, writer, and editor for Funny Or Die for three years. I co-directed 2 seasons of the IFC show Stan Against Evil, now streaming on Hulu. Steven Gute is a filmmaker who has worn many hats in his now 20-year career. Gute works as a director, producer, writer, cinematographer, journalist and editor, and already has a long resume of credits stretching across a multitude of formats. Mitchell Arens is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles working across multiple genres and moving image mediums. He holds an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Throughout his career, Mitchell has been fortunate enough to work behind the camera on commercials, documentaries and narrative films all over the world, shooting everywhere from Borneo to Siberia. Sam Slovick has been, or is, a writer, photographer, actor, recording artist, freelance journalist and indie documentary director/shooter/producer.
