Sara Lafleur-Vetter is a multimedia journalist with a passion for telling stories of the underdog and the underbelly of society. As a videographer, photographer, writer, and radio journalist, she’s covered everything from social orphans in Russia to Native resistance camps at Standing Rock. She holds an interdisciplinary degree in Anthropology and Russian from Reed College. Lafleur began her journalism career in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she documented local NGOs including an organization for the homeless, a kid circus, and an institution for the disabled. Afterwards, she lived in Luxor, Egypt documenting ancient temple blocks for the American Research Center in Egypt. She received her Masters from the Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2015, where she won a Dorothea Lange Fellowship for her photography. She spent over half a year covering the Native-led resistance camps at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, which she is working to develop into a feature length film.

Virgie Tovar is an author, activist and one of the nation's leading experts and lecturers on fat discrimination and body image. She is the founder of Babecamp, a 4-week online course designed to help women who are ready to break up with diet culture, and started the hashtag campaign #LoseHateNotWeight. She pens a weekly column called Take the Cake. Tovar edited the ground-breaking anthology Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love and Fashion (Seal Press, November 2012) and The Feminist Press will be publishing her forthcoming book of non-fiction (Summer 2018). She holds a Master's degree in Sexuality Studies with a focus on the intersections of body size, race and gender. I'm a GA reporter/MMJ who reports on state politics and issues from the CA state capital. Before Sacramento I was reporting in Atlanta. I've covered everything from politics to riots, investigative pieces to sports events, and go live and to breaking news three-to-four times a week. Editing and shooting is not a problem. During my time in Atlanta I was part of a team that won a regional Murrow Award & Emmy award for coverage on protests and riots in Atlanta in 2020. Before coming to Atlanta, I reported in Central Texas for KCEN covering a wide swath of stories such as the Austin Bombings, the passing of Barbara Bush, The WWE Tribute to the Troops on Fort Hood, and many feature pieces on the Central Texas community. I’m a visual journalist in San Francisco. Before moving to news and documentary I worked for a decade as a commercial producer creating content for agencies like Leo Burnett, design studios like IDEO, and big brands like Google and Apple. I’ve also produced for CNN, The Washington Post, and Público, Portugal’s largest newspaper, as well. In 2022, I completed my master’s at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism after working for a decade as a commercial producer. My thesis documentary Hasta la última gota, following the fight for water and a new constitution in Chile, was published in The Intercept. Anthony “Mogli” Maureal is no stranger to the nomadic life. He was born on the island of Cebu in the Philippines, and spent 3 years living in Seoul, Korea as a child before his family immigrated to the United States. Mogli majored in Sound Arts at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, and eventually found his home base in Oakland, CA, making his own way as an international photographer, filmmaker, and touring musician. Mogli’s work has been featured in outlets such as Business Insider, Quartz, California magazine and many more. He is a founding member, photographer, cinematographer and music producer of the award winning film, theater, and music collective RADIX Troupe. His recent projects include an independent feature film, Kaneko’s Owl (2022), four short documentaries with California Magazine, a feature-length documentary about the Marshallese community in Arkansas, and a short documentary with Business Insider about potato farmers surviving the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. Mogli owns and operates his own multi-media production business called, The Mogli, where he creates compelling visual content for businesses, non- profits, and media outlets, as well as fellow artists and musicians in the local Bay Area community. In addition, he's an avid traveller, very adaptable and have experience shooting photos and videos in many different environments, including the Amazon jungle, Peru, West Africa, Philippines and many others. Hi! I’m a video producer and writer on a quest to tell new stories and to examine the accuracy and implications of established narratives. My videos, articles and audio stories have been published by Business Insider, Insider, Slate Magazine, the Orlando Sentinel, VII Foundation, The Chautauquan Daily and Dublin South FM in Ireland. Margaret Cheatham Williams is an Emmy-nominated independent film producer and editor, currently seeking opportunities and collaborations in the film, audio, and outdoor space. Previously Margaret Cheatham was a documentarian at The New York Times, where she pitched, produced, shot and edited narrative and documentary video and photography. She regularly collaborated with the graphics department to create interactive content. She is particularly driven to stories that examine the intersection of health, family and personal identity. Through deep character exploration, she aims to tackle intimate issues including gender, fertility, and sexuality. In 2018 she piloted Conception, a highly visual and lyrical exploration of the myriad ways that women become mothers, and the journey that ensues. In the series, we introduce you to six women — each with a transformation uniquely theirs — in first-person accounts of love, regret, doubt and strength. Season II addresses the complexities of raising children in our modern era – We asked parents: What does it mean to raise children in the context of #MeToo, the immigration discussion, the opioid crisis and the gun debate? Her other work at the Times took her to Pyeongchang, South Korea where she covered the Winter Olympics, to Brazil, and all over the US, where she has reported on postpartum depression, politics and produced 360 video. Margaret Cheatham’s work has been recognized by the Livingston Awards, the Hearst Foundation, Pictures of the Year International, the National Press Photographers Association, Society for News Design, and the South by Southwest interactive awards. Her films have premiered at AFI Fest and the Margaret Mead Film Festival. In 2016 she was selected as an alternate for the Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship, which provides opportunities for U.S. citizens to participate in an academic year of overseas travel and storytelling on a globally significant theme. She has been a multimedia coach at the North Carolina Photojournalism workshop and has served as judge for the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism contest and the White House Press Association. Previously she a video intern for The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and MediaStorm, an award winning multimedia production house. She completed a bachelor's degree in 2011 from the School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied photojournalism and French. With a background in Anthropology and Photography, I am working on a Master’s Degree in Media Innovation. My goal is to illustrate the #ClimateCrisis. Photography is a lifelong passion of mine. I draw from my experiences working as an archaeologist across the country, in kitchens as a cook, and a father of two in order to connect with communities. Ever since I first picked up a camera as a child, I have been obsessed with chasing light and remain committed to a lifelong pursuit of storytelling. Having studied the history of photography, I continue by studying contemporary photographer’s work to push my craft forward. I am a multimedia artist and storyteller––a commercial and documentary filmmaker and photographer who specializes in outdoor adventure, lifestyle, environmental, and human interest work. I am especially drawn to working with eco-conscious brands, B corporations, and companies that are committed to equality and the environment.
