Rodrigo Hernández (México, b. 1982) is an independent documentary filmmaker for more than a decade as part of the Muzungu audiovisual cooperative. He has developed a wide range of TV series and documentaries for Al Jazeera, National Geographic, New York Times, Telesur. His first feature film “Disparos” (Mexico 2018), has competed around the world at top international festivals such as Guadalajara and Dok.Fest Munich. Iason Athanasiadis is a photojournalist, documentary film-maker and writer working on the intersection of the Eastern Mediterranean with the Arab, Persian and Turkic Middle East and Central Asia. Neil Shaw has been producing short videos, inserts and documentaries around Africa and beyond since 1999. He is both a field producer, experienced in organising and logistics in often tricky locations, as well as a creative: broadcast journalist, cameraman and editor with all his own equipment. Nikolas Vafiadis was born in Athens in 1961. He studied Geology at the National University of Athens and specialized in Geochemistry and Petrology through X-Ray Diffraction. He started his PhD on the deposits of Wolfram in Greece, which he later abandoned and started working as a journalist. He was awarded a scholarship from the British Council and –after his studies- received an MA degree in International Journalism from the City University of London.
