After studying sociology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hanoi, Maika discovered her passion for photography. Since 2006, she has been capturing moments of her daily life using various cameras, including Lomo's family cameras. In 2008, she embarked on a professional photography journey, collaborating with editorial clients and fashion firms in Vietnam. In 2010, Maika shifted her focus to documentary photography, and her first project, titled "The Pink Choice," delved into the personal lives of gay couples in Vietnam. The project garnered widespread recognition, with publications in esteemed magazines across the USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain, China, India, and Brazil... Maika's talent and dedication earned her prestigious accolades, including the "best photo essay" and "best single photo" awards in 2010 at the Indochina Media Memorial Foundation. Additionally, "The Pink Choice" was named a finalist at the Asian Women Photographers competition in 2012. In 2013, Maika's remarkable work continued to receive acclaim. "The Pink Choice" won first prize in the Contemporary Issues category at World Press Photo 2013, as well as the top prize for documentary storytelling at Pride Photo Award 2013. Maika's passion for photography led her to participate in the renowned 2013 Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and she was selected for the VII Mentor program from 2014 to 2016. In recognition of her accomplishments, Maika was honored in the Forbes Vietnam 30under30 list in 2014. Continuing her impressive trajectory, Maika was chosen as one of the six talented individuals for the inaugural 6x6 Global Talent Program in Southeast Asia & Oceania in 2017, an initiative organized by The World Press Photo. The following year, she received nominations for the Elliott Erwitt Havana Club 7 Fellowship and the Visionary Award. In a testament to her expertise and influence, Maika has been invited to serve as a global jury member for the esteemed 2023 World Press Photo Contest. Coming from England, I started out my career through the indie film route; which specifically was done in my roles as a storyboard artist and cinematographer. This later saw me evolved into the director that I am today. Since the summer of 2015 I have based myself in Vietnam where I have been working throughout South East Asia as a director, which has seen me working on a mix of commercials, viral videos, documentaries and short films. It is from there where I also won Best Documentary Feature Film for 'Take Me Home'; which was granted by the Sydney World Film Festival. It is my intention to continue this rich vein of inspiration that Vietnam affords me. I work as a 2D and 3D designer and am based in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City. With 13 years of professional experience in a variety of organizations, from clients to agencies. My areas of competence include graphic design, 3D design (including both creative direction and art direction), and brand design. When it comes to branding, my team and I—which often consists of an account manager, a designer, a marketer, and a copywriter—start by developing the brand strategy. I am a freelance journalist based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I specialises in reporting, producing, filming and editing for news and TV programs. I also work on travel articles, photography and scriptwriter for TV show as well. I produced a video documentary "Living on the song" is about the challenges of buskers in London and Birmingham when they perform outsides. I spent 3 months to meet buskers and film them in London and Birmingham, and edit this video. This project brought me to have a great chance to chat with amazing buskers in London Underground, and understood how difficult to get busking license or pitch to perform at the Tube. I really appreciate their work. The street musicians are making our cities in the world more interesting in someway. Hence, I wanna produce a documentary about the life of buskers around the world and some arts, lifestyle stories as well.

Thanh Hue is a Vietnamese photographer currently based in Ho Chi Minh City. Her focus is on documentary photography and human-centered issues, specifically private living spaces. Hue began her career documenting groups that spontaneously migrate and lived in residential areas in Hanoi in 2019. After graduating at the Academy of Journalism and Communication in the same year, she worked as a photo correspondent for VnExpress - the most read Vietnamese newspaper and covered news and lifestyle stories.
