I’m a Photographer and Videographer in Seoul, which I’ve been calling my home since 2011. I shoot everything from headshots and studio portraits to weddings and events, but especially enjoy walking around streets and travelling with my camera. I’m a graduate of Visual Communication Design from Hongik University in Seoul and have always been a visually inclined person with an attraction to cameras. I like to tell stories in both still and moving media, and have previous experience working in design and video production as well. I enjoy creating images that can inspire emotion and tell a story, whether small or great.

Hello! I'm a Korean-Texan based in Seoul and a bilingual (Korean/English), freelance writer, fixer and translator. My work (print and video) has appeared in places like the the BBC, PRI, Dallas Morning News, Food52, CBS News, Newsday/amNewYork, Greatist and more. (I'm a generalist and have written about a multitude of topics, but especially love stories about food, diaspora, North Korea and identity.) I am a documentary filmmaker based in Seoul, Korea. My previous work experience includes video journalist at AFP and news intern at ABC News Seoul Bureau. My first feature documentary film Love Child as a producer premiered in Sundance in 2014. Since March 2021, I launched my own documentary production company Docu+ (www.docuplus.co.kr)

I'm an award-winning cameraman, director, journalist and founder of Yooran Film, an independent film company in South Korea. Following my MA in Cultural Studies and Media, I focused on cultural and environmental issues from a sociological lens. I have collaborated with a number of global networks, such as BBC, National Geographic, CNN, and Business Insider. I have been recognized at numerous film festivals, such as Best Cinematography award in United Nation Film Festiva, the NAFF award at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) and the Golden Kapok Award (GZDocs). In addition to my career as a filmmaker, I have authored an instructional book on cinema and a book about my ethnographic travels across the globe. I have been honored to serve as a jury member for several film festivals, including the Busan International Short Film Festival in South Korea and the Meihodo International Film Festival in Japan.
