First exposed to photography in the early 1980’s, I have always enjoyed capturing images of places I have been and places I want to remember and tell others about. It seems that the camera was always with me no matter where I went. On trips around the state or around the country, photographs documented my travels and memories. The pinnacle of my personal photography was between 2001 and 2005 where I had the unique opportunity to work and live in Antarctica. The amazing scenery and experiences there could only be told to others through photography. With the availability of email and internet I was able to share my adventure through digital images. In 2012 I was awarded a First Place award in News Photography from the New Jersey Press Association and a Second Place award in News Photography from the Pennsylvania Press Association. Journalism is a second career for me. I got my start in public safety and did that for 20 years before jumping over to journalism. I specialize in covering breaking and spot news especially in situations where there is heavy law enforcement presence and or interaction with firefighters or paramedics, which nowadays is just about every large event and or disaster. Speaking the “language” of public safety, understand what is happening I can read the environment and anticipate the pending actions. Having this edge helps me better cover the news and ultimately stay safe. My work has been published in local news papers like the Express-Times and national publications including the New York Times and the USA Today. Chris is a contract freelance photographer with Lehighvalleylive.com / The Express-Times, Associated Press, NBC News, ABC News, WFMZ-TV, WTXF Fox 29, WPVI 6ABC, New York Daily News, Reuters and the Allentown Morning Call.

I'm a multi-faceted technician who is well-versed in all aspects of video production. My expertise in live streaming, camera, lighting, sound, editing, compression and visual effects has allowed me to produce over 600 videos for the Web and TV. I believe that documentaries are the last bastion of journalism. Having worked for network news at MSNBC for almost four years as an editor helped lead me to this conclusion. Documentaries can help change the world in which we live. Currently I am working on a feature documentary about a self taught artist who is entrenched in the noise scene, comics, zines, and performance art. I like to hunt for documentary stories about artists, social movements, historical events, human & animal rights, science, technology, and environmental issues. I believe a can-do attitude and team-player mentality makes a great video producer. My goal is to be the best of the best and create content that connects to audiences worldwide.

My interests are pretty varied, but generally, are all connected somehow through art and/or technology. The company has been comically varied in work over the past many years. I have worked in journalism for eight years, branching often into marketing and sponsored content. At my core I am a storyteller, specializing in cinematography. As a field producer I have risen to challenges in many austere environments, including Iraq, Korea, India, Mexico and Standing Rock. I have also done on-camera correspondent work for documentary projects in Haiti and across the United States. I believe documentary filming is simple, but not easy. I don't wait for inspiration; I keep a camera ready for when it comes. I toil at the technical, ace the audio and prioritize verité. I know how to find the perfect shot, but I'm Zen enough to settle for good if chasing it might disturb the honest vibe of a scene. If the video feels true, I know the work is worthy. When I'm not in the field, I'm happiest sharing what I've learned with others. I've taught college students as well as working professionals, typically offering hands-on field production and editing skills. As a Marine veteran, I also mentor service members through their transition to civilian life - especially those angling for careers in journalism. I believe veterans are under-represented in the media industry, and they offer a diversity of experience and first-hand knowledge that is invaluable to newsrooms.
