Meet Lane. The Chicago Tribune asked us to do a piece about their investigative reporting division. This client was looking for a video to describe who they were and how their services helped people. Editorial Storytelling Techniques This short 2-minute reel was created to show several examples of video interview set-ups. In this piece, we hope to showcase different lighting, audio and interview techniques. I am working on a series of stories exploring creativity. My goal is to profile a variety of people working in creative fields. I would like these stories to be a resource for others as they explore their creative journeys. Ever since we seized fire from nature at the dawn of our civilization, it has defined us. We have prided ourselves on our ability to control it and shape it to our needs. However, the same fire that fuels our internal combustion engines and powers our industry is overheating our planet. I interviewed the subjects in the studio, captured footage of the museum, and edited the project. I came up with the creative direction, and then hired a designer to draw it out, and a narrator for the voiceover. From there, I fully animated the video with sound effects. For this project, I scouted the best times for optimal light on each of the scenes. I put together the timelapses and produced the full edit as well. Short film written, produced, shot, and edited by myself.

About Kenneth K.
My name is Kenneth Klemens, I am a multimedia producer and photojournalist focusing on short documentary films in the feature and news genres. My passion is photography, specifically its unique ability to tell a story with a silence and stillness that no other medium can. I held an internship at the Cape Argus Newspaper in Cape Town, South Africa for four months as a news photographer. I believe a story is best delivered when shown rather than told. Visual journalism, bringing my audience to a place or event is what I try to do with each story. I am a University of Connecticut graduate of 2015 and I am currently freelancing for multiple organizations at UConn. I'd like the opportunity to work on a creative team at some publication or website and collaborate with others in editorial work and content gathering.
