After finishing with his BS in Education from Newberry College in 2013, Jake decided to go a separate route and not pursue becoming a teacher as a career. With a deep foundation in creative arts throughout high school, Jake focused on entrepreneurship as soon as he graduated college working as an independent contractor for WWE for about 5 years. Jake decided to pursue video production shortly after moving to Greenville, SC and finding his love for art again. With over a decade of experience telling impactful stories about the African American experience, John is dedicated to creating films that educate and enlighten audiences. Originally from Charleston, Travis was inspired at a young age by the storytelling traditions of his community. After studying filmmaking in college, he launched his career making poignant documentaries and narratives grounded in the history and culture of the South. Travis's films confront racial injustice while also celebrating the richness of African American life, music, and spirituality. His body of work has been recognized at film festivals nationwide, including Sundance and Tribeca. He received the Outstanding Directing award for his 2015 feature film "America Street." When he's not on set, Travis enjoys mentoring up-and-coming Black filmmakers in his community. He also speaks regularly on panels about increasing diversity in the film industry. Driven by his passion for cinema and social change, Travis plans to continue enlightening mainstream audiences with untold stories of the African American experience.

Sheena Vaught is a filmmaker from southeastern North Carolina. Growing up and having a passion for film and storytelling, Sheena earned a Film Studies degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she learned much about the history of cinema, production and film criticism. Sheena's first film that she wrote, directed and composed was an experimental film entitled Water (2010). Sheena went on to direct two documentaries, Colestine (2011) and God In My Fingers, the latter still being a works-in-progress, screened at the Cucalorus Film Festival as well as the Cultural Spirit Online Film Festival. Having her heart set on narrative directing, Sheena pursued a career as a script supervisor, working on feature films such as Frat Brothers (2013), The Perfect Summer (2013) & Adrenaline (2015) to name a few. As a script supervisor Sheena was able to learn first hand about film directing and is now writing and producing more short films to market herself as a viable director. Her first narrative project, titled The Fervent, completed filming in June 2016. Sheena is currently in development for her newest project Scarlet Reign/

After earning degrees in Media Communications and Spanish at North Carolina State University in 2004, I began my career in video production working as an editor and camera operator on a cooking show in Raleigh, NC.In 2005, I moved to Charleston, SC where I began working as an editor and producer for Litton Entertainment (now known as Hearst Media). Over the course of several years, I worked on a variety of nationally televised docu-reality TV series, including Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Family Edition, Calling Dr. Pol, The Brady Barr Experience, The Great Doctor Scott, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hidden Heroes, Exploration with Richard Weise, Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller, and Hometeam. In 2011, I founded Palmetto Coast Media and began creating videos for businesses and events all over Charleston. In 2012, we co-created, co-produced, directed, filmed and edited a docu-reality TV series called “Give Me Shelter,” featuring the Charleston-based animal shelter Pet Helpers. The series aired on Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, Hulu and Animal Planet in over 100 countries. In 2019, a promo video we created for Pet Helpers was voted by locals as Best Locally Produced Video in Charleston City Paper. It has been an exciting journey to work with so many incredible clients and partners over these past 12 years!
