I’m a surfer, sailer, intramural-softball player and adventure junkie. Growing up in Florida, I developed an early bond with the ocean, which influences my creative endeavors. I attended the University of Miami and received a BS in Biology. After graduating, I focused on connecting people to the natural world through digital media. I started my career as a photographer for the University of Miami Shark Research and Conservation Program. A long time ago, in a tiny Pennsylvania town far, far away, Josh Ritchie first graced the world with his presence (insert his wife’s eye roll here.) After a childhood spent skinning his knees, building forts and listening to punk rock, Josh discovered the world of photography and quickly realized that meeting new people and seeing new places was a pretty cool way to go through life. His love for the lens led him to newsrooms around the country, where Josh made a living photographing the human condition. After months of trying to convince his fiancée that he knew what he was doing, Josh quit his staff job. He packed up his life, his lady and his pet lizard and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to become a freelancer. It was the best decision of Josh’s career. Now he produces commercial portraits and narratives for clients such as Apple Inc., The New York Times Magazine, and Nike using his art to help these iconic companies move their band forward. When Josh isn’t working, he can be found rocking out with his ukulele and waving his Terrible Towel as if his life depended on it — sometimes even at the same! Isabella Marie Garcia, or Isa, as she prefers to be called, is a writer and photographer living in her native swampland of Miami, Florida. She divides her time between working as a freelance arts and culture writer and a film and digital photographer. I have been working as a photographer and videographer for 13 years and full time in the entertainment industry full time for 8 years. I am an accountant by profession, but my passion for photography has led her to train in the Roberto Mata Taller de Fortografia (Roberto Mata Photography Workshop). My documentary-style work focuses on the social problems of her country. I had worked on the crisis experienced by the elderly in Venezuela, the rudeness of childbirth in very low socio-economic contexts, the health system and education in times of pandemic in vulnerable areas.
