With over 20 years of experience in front and behind the scenes, Juana has a natural and charismatic way to identify with the viewer. Born in Colombia, South America, Juana grew up amidst cameras, microphones, cables, studios, production rooms and lights as her father was one of the most recognized TV and Radio personalities in the country, and she participated from an early age in several television commercials. After studying Journalism and Communications Sciences at the Pontifical Xaverian University, she immigrated to the United States in 1995 looking to open her own way in Spanish Language media. Settling in Atlanta, GA, she started to incursion in the local Hispanic media by working with local talent and production agencies as a Spanish voice over/on-camera talent. In 2001, Juana joined WUVG-TV Univision Atlanta 34, the first Spanish Language Television Station in the market. As their Community Affairs Director, Juana was in charge of creating, producing and hosting “Nuestra Georgia”, a weekly 30-minute community affairs show, which in 2004 earned one of the first two Regional Emmy Awards nominations, and the first one for a local Spanish Language television station’s show, as well as co-anchoring the first Spanish language news brief at the station. Juana became the first Hispanic/Latina to be invited as a presenter during the 2005 Southeast Chapter Emmy Award Ceremony, as well as elected as the First Latina Board Member of the Society of Voice Arts & Sciences, Juana holds a degree in Business Administration with two majors: Marketing with emphasis in Entertainment Industry Marketing, and Management, from Kennesaw State University.

Currently, I’m a freelance photo editor at CNN Digital, although “freelance” is a bit of a misnomer since I work nearly full-time. Since June 2019, I work with a team of photo editors to license the best photography on the wires for nearly all stories on CNN.com. By choosing engaging photographs for our homepage and story card images, we help stories be seen by millions. We also create news-driven photo galleries for ongoing and breaking news events, as well as source imagery for other CNN franchises, such as CNN Travel, Business, Style and more. Getty Images is one of our main sources for finding relative, newsworthy images to pair with our stories. Through this job, I’ve become familiar with many Getty Images staff photographers’ work and the Getty Images interface that clients use to download photos. I am also a regular freelance photographer at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Athens Banner-Herald in Athens, Georgia. I’ve covered a variety of assignments, including high school and college sports, political events and rallies, K-12 schools and intimate profiles on individuals and their communities. Most recently I’ve covered important stories related to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 presidential election and Georgia senate races, and protests following the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks and Breonna Taylor.

Jeremiah Rhodes is an award-winning video producer and filmmaker whose work has focused on race and sexuality and how those influence life in the American South. He is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a BA in photo and video journalism. His work has been published in news outlets such as Washington Post, Texas Tribune, NPR, and the Raleigh News and Observer, and his film work has been screened in film festivals across the country, including Blackstar, New Orleans Film Festival, and Indie Grits.

Felipe is an Emmy award-winning producer. He is a bilingual and bicultural producer, director, filmmaker, artist, musician & writer creating content both in English and Spanish. Felipe is also the Co-Founder, CEO and Executive Producer/Director of his own production company, IGNI Productions, and his online channel for the arts thegchannel.com. For the last 20 years, Felipe has been producing outstanding high quality storytelling at CNN. Most recently, Felipe worked as Supervising Features Producer at the CNN Vision team in Atlanta, creating special and sponsored programming. Within the unit, he led and managed a team of storytellers in Atlanta and Miami with passion, inspiring and empowering them to fulfill their own creative potential. He also worked in several countries with colleagues, anchors, correspondents and freelancers to get high quality stories on TV, digital and social media. At the same time, he managed budgets and financial forecasts for different shows. He has received several awards and lately has been a guest speaker in film & TV production conferences. Felipe Barral is a storyteller who expresses himself in many ways –through his visual works (documentaries, films, video/art installations & TV shows), his music (both as a performer and composer), his art (painting and photography) and his writing (he’s a poet and a journalist) . He is also a multicultural journalist with a Masters degree in Philosophy. As a filmmaker, Felipe explores and experiments with the audio visual language to create projects that capture the dangerous path of a creative human venture. Listening to the heartbeat of life he thinks in images, syllables and pigments. He talks in music, words and colors. He speaks the visual language that our modern culture understands. He has released 6 short films (The Book of Life, Inhabit, PIXEL, Desire, Dust House and touchME: Dida); short and long format documentaries (including Louvre Atlanta); 3 books of poetry (Múrberon, El Libro de Isamar and Aion); has composed several original scores for silent films and documentaries (including Nosferatu, Metropolis and CNN’s Filling the Blank among others); has done several multimedia installations (including Fire Woman among others); and has performed live both in Chile and the United States. Felipe has taught his “Creative Production Philosophy & Style” to producers, reporters and colleagues from CNNE, CNNI and HLN; and he also teaches it to children and young storytellers in an international school in Atlanta, which led him to be recognized with Time Warner’s Richard D. Parsons Community Impact Award in 2014. In 2010 Felipe produced, directed, filmed (second camera) and wrote the acclaimed Alzheimer’s documentary “Filling the Blank” for CNN International’s World Untold Stories show. He also did a version in Spanish for CNN en Español. Both premiered in 2011. In 2011 Felipe also produced, directed and wrote the special documentary film “Crescendo – la música es vida” (Crescedo - why music is life), the first time CNNE blended fiction with reality in a documentary/film style. The film was released in 500 movie theatres in the US before being broadcasted on CNN. Between 2003 and 2012 Felipe produced and hosted the live weekly segment Juego de Palabras in the show Encuentro on CNN en Español. And between 2006 and 2012 Felipe produced, directed, hosted, filmed and edited almost 300 Juego de Palabras short stories and 4 special shows focused on arts, culture and entertainment. In a special collaboration between thegchannel.com and artsatl.com, Felipe has continue to tell stories related to entertainment in Atlanta. And has continue to inspire audiences around the world with outstanding, thought-provoking and engaging content for different platforms and ubiquitous screens. Hi! I'm an Atlanta-based filmmaker specializing in editing and sound design. I originate from Western NC where I graduated from WCU with a BFA in Film and Television Production in the Spring of 2022. My school connections led me to Local Cinema Studios, where I got my start as a DIT and Assistant Editor, which later turned into an opportunity to Sound Design. Now, I've done both in some facet for films, small businesses, and all sorts of other media.
