Hi, I’m Barnaby Riggs a filmmaker with a track record in Directing, shooting and editing sports documentaries, events, branded content and project management working in multiple cities and environments all-around the world. Souvid Datta is an emerging director, screenwriter, and photographer. Spanning both documentary and narrative worlds, his award-winning work explores humanism and systems of power. Born in Mumbai and raised in London, his pursuit of impact storytelling has earned recognitions such as IMDb New Filmmaker of the Year, a Cannes Young Director Award nomination, landed him an Adobe Creative Residency award, a place on the Bafta x BFI Crew list, the Vogue India 20 Under 26 list and Best Documentary at Cannes Short Film Festival. Human stories are the heart of Souvid’s work, investigating issues like social justice, human rights, the environment and culture and taking him to over 60 countries. From the frontlines of the Syrian refugee crisis, to the bustling metropolises of East Africa, in the shadow of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, to environmental hotspots across China and South Asia, Souvid has produced multimedia reports, films and commercials for clients including Google, National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times, Universal Music Group, BBC Studios, TIME and The Guardian. As a photographer, he’s shot editorials and reportage features all over the world, from Kenya to Kathmandu, with exhibitions in London’s Saatchi Gallery, the Houses of Parliament, the Indian Alliance Congress, Royal Geographic Society & Bibliotheque National de France. He also works often as a self-shooting producer/director for broadcast, including for Lost Musicians of India, a 6-part documentary series for Channel 4 (2017), and second-unit director for BBC4's Rhythms of India (2019). I am an Arabic-speaking broadcast journalist with experience of working for Al Jazeera, Reuters and Agence France Presse (AFP), where I currently freelance as a news and features producer. I've worked on flagship studio programmes broadcast on Al Jazeera English including The Listening Post and Inside Story, as well as long format current affairs documentaries, including The Rageh Omaar Report and a 48" documentary marking the 20th anniversary of the invasion of Kuwait, which I produced and presented. I have also contributed shorter features for diversity programmes, including Artsworld and Everywoman. I am a freelance cameraman, journalist, VJ and film maker based in the UK. I have self shot numerous films and reports from across the world, having worked and lived in Kenya and Thailand for many years. I have a wealth of experience producing films on a wide variety of subjects, from the illegal wildlife trade in Myanmar (AJ+) to corruption in the fight against malaria in Papua New Guinea. My films have been broadcast across the world. My recent projects include an episode of Made in Dadaab which will soon be broadcast on Netflix, a series on the dangers of not being vaccinated shot in Sierra Leone and Congo for Not Impossible Labs and PBS, to a film on snow leopards using remote cameras in the mountains of Mongolia for the BBC. I am very comfortable working on my own or part of a team, and I believe my camera work is of a very high standard. From May 2013 to January 2015 I was the South East Asia Video Journalist for Agence France Presse. During this time I travelled extensively to major stories across the world, including the war in Gaza, the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, as well as to the World Cup in Brazil. Before moving to Bangkok I lived and worked as a freelance VJ in East Africa for three years. I covered the biggest news stories across Africa during that time, for a wide variety of clients including AFP, Reuters, Sky News, Channel 4 news, CBC and France 24. I also made documentaries for numerous NGOs, as well as shooting TV commercials for Action Aid in Haiti, Myanmar and Afghanistan. Prior to my move to Africa, I was a producer/director at ITN. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and member of the World Explorer’s Bureau, Sarah Begum is an Immersive Investigative Journalist and an Anthropologist-Explorer. In 2010, Sarah travelled deep into the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, where she lived with the Huaorani tribe and immersed in their way of life, hunting with warriors, gathering with women whilst investigating into the impacts of oil exploitation on their land. On this expedition, Sarah was made Queen and married to a warrior to create an alliance and send their message about protecting their land through her film. Sarah has survived in some of the most dangerous cities in the world – Caracas, Venezuela, where was presenting international current affairs for an English TV channel and witnessed the unusual situations across the country. Sarah has also investigated the mafia in Sicily, football hooligan gangs in Krakow and continues to seek out authentic stories across the globe through her immersive style.
