Joanna Higgs, a skilled filmmaker, narrator and communicator, and award-winning director/producer has been a journalist, editor, producer and director for both local (South African) and international television networks, including Reuters and the BBC. She has travelled widely on the African continent and beyond finding and telling powerful human stories for good. She has the unique ability to connect with her subjects, making them feel safe and comfortable. She holds a masters degree in Documentary (UCT) and has a keen interest in South African history and digital storytelling. She’s currently working with Annie Lennox on a short film in Cape Town.

Since 2008 I have been lucky enough to work with a variety of clients in many genres, most exciting being tagging rhinos to help in their conservation, retelling the story of the Shark's board in Kwa-Zulu Natal and crossing borders with Kingsly Holsgate helping educate the locals about relationships with nature, the impact of sanitary living has on their lives and the simple steps they can take to make this happen. I have also been involved with a number of digital campaigns, startups and behind the scenes.
