Hello there! My name is Spencer Bruttig and I am a Washington, D.C. based film producer, DOP and editor. I came out to DC from the SF Bay Area to help start a new documentary and podcast production company (Tegna and Vault Studios) but most recently joined Google as an in-house creative producer working on their marketing team. I am also the Cinematographer on the D.C. based narrative series "Anacostia," as well as the Baltimore Comedy series "Thespian." I am also the DP on the new reality television show "City Boyz DC." I have worked on sets big and small, and I have used a number of different camera packages from Sony FX and A series, to Red Weapons and Komodos, Canon C series and Black Magic URSAs. Ray Whitehouse (he/him) works at the intersection of documentary film and journalism. After growing up in Chicago, he lived in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to Washington, D.C. He works primarily as a director of photography. His feature-length directorial debut, A RUN FOR MORE, had its world premiere at Frameline in June 2022 and screened more than 30 festivals across the U.S. He served as the Second Unit DP on TO THE END, directed by Rachel Lears, which premiered at Sundance in 2022. BRING THEM HOME, a documentary short he co-directed and DP’d, premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in 2022. He was part of the Washington Post team that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for reporting about the Capitol insurrection and its aftermath. He’s worked as a cinematographer on more than 20 documentary features and filmed, produced and edited projects for The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, and Univision, among others. He is community coordinator for the D.C. chapter of Video Consortium and a regional co-chair of the Documentary Producers Alliance. He holds an M.A. in documentary journalism from UNC Chapel Hill and a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University. The core tenets of his practice are transparency, collaboration and critical reflexivity.

CUTTER HODIERNE is a documentary cinematographer. He has also worked as an award-winning feature film director. His debut feature film FISHING WITHOUT NETS, a story of pirates in Somalia told from the perspective of the pirates, won 'Best Director' at the Sundance Film Festival and was called "Sundance's most beautiful film" by The Wrap. His short film of the same title garnered international acclaim, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance. The short was expanded into the first scripted feature film financed by VICE Studios and distributed by FOX. Cutter was named one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film and was a fellow at the Sundance Screenwriter's Lab. Cutter's work in interactive mediums includes VR experiences like STRENGTH IN NUMBERS - NBA FINALS VR for OCULUS, A virtual museum exhibit: BERLIN WALL VR and art-installation films like OMNIA PER OMNIA. Enrique Huaiquil is a Chilean-American award-winning cinematographer, photojournalist, documentary photographer, video editor, and graphic artist based in Northern Virginia. He has covered a wide variety of issues, including the Central American caravans trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, the aftermath of the earthquake in Puerto Rico, white supremacy in America, COVID-19 intensive care units, and immigration detention centers. Enrique has been documenting the immigration crisis in the U.S. In 2021, his focus was primarily on the growing Afghan community in the Washington, DC area as a result of the increased number of asylum seekers and refugees who had to flee Afghanistan with the American withdrawal in 2021. As a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee, he has explored and chronicled the challenges faced by refugees who evacuated Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. Enrique's work has been published in a number of major news outlets including Al Jazeera English, NBC News, NewsMax, China Global Television Network, PBS, WETA, Bloomberg, and Business Insider. Timothy Wolfer is a journalist and filmmaker. For over a decade he has been working on stories of humanitarian aid and migration. His work has taken him to 40+ countries; places like South Sudan to tell stories of the conflict, Bangladesh to cover stories of the Rohingya fleeing Myanmar, Cuba as the country first opened to U.S. humanitarian assistance, and Haiti days after the 2010 earthquake. His latest film The Right Girls follows a group of transgender women headed to the U.S. Border with the 2018 Large Migrant Caravan. This film was distributed on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play. He has also produced numerous, short docs for PBS stations, winning him a regional Emmy. Wolfer was also present on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th filming as a mob breached the building and the footage, he shot there was featured by the New York Times. Farhan Alam, has been in the film and television industry for over 16 years. He has worked as a cinematographer, director, and editor on many award-winning programs. Recently his feature film, Sawaan, was Pakistan’s official entry to the 90th Academy Awards in the foreign film category. Sawaan has also won numerous awards in film festivals around the world, including best director and best film and can be currently seen on Netflix. Farhan’s passion includes bringing social issues to the mainstream public, be it editing a documentary on the side effects of dry cleaning or just contributing ideas to fellow film makers. Farhan has also worked for four years as a cameraman, editor, and producer at Voice of America. Some of the productions that he has worked on are Kahani Pakistani and View360, for Kahani Pakistani, he has shot, produced, and edited numerous episodes. With a strong visual eye and a creative mind, I approach storytelling like a puzzle. How can I bring this to life? How can I take a simple idea and give it a voice and a vision? At Voice of America I co-created and launched ‘People in America’ a new visual series and style of storytelling, diving deep in the lives and emotions of various individuals. From Andy Shallal, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, to Maz Jobrani, these are stories unlike others, almost like a candid sit down, allowing the audience to capture the true story behind names and faces. Leading and managing an amazing team of creatives to create moving and compelling stories! While in charge of managing, shooting and producing all newsroom studio shows at USA TODAY, I built successful video platforms with daily franchises for news, money and entertainment. She was a senior producer with NBC News from 2013 through 2019 where she helped to launch NBC News' first digital video unit. Her work there focused on short-form documentaries and original video series. Xinyan is an award-winning video journalist and filmmaker based in Washington DC. Born and raised in Wuhan, China, Xinyan started her journalism career in 2012 working as a producer for BBC News in Beijing covering the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, she launched the North America video team for Hong Kong’s flagship newspaper South China Morning Post in New York, and later joined the BBC's Washington DC bureau in 2020 as a senior video journalist. Xinyan's 23-min BBC documentary China’s Science Revolution won the 2015 BBC Storytelling Fund and was Highly Commended for Excellent Online Production at the 2016 AIB Awards. Her 15-min short film for South China Morning Post, Fighting Fentanyl: the Drug from China Destroying American Lives, won the Gold Prize for Best Use of Online Video at the 2019 WAN-IFRA Asian Digital Media Awards. A BBC News video feature she shot, Are America's unvaccinated changing their minds?, won a White House News Photographers Association's Eyes of History Digital Storytelling award in 2022. Pilar Timpane is a filmmaker and producer based in Durham, NC. Her work has focused on women's stories, immigration narratives, and religious communities with the aim of using storytelling for social change.
