Kavita Bahl is a multiple award winning documentary filmmaker based in Mumbai, India. She has thrice received the National Film Award for her feature length documentaries - Cotton for my shroud(2011), Candles in the wind (2013)& I cannot give you my Forest (2014). She specialises in production of non-fiction content, since last 25 years. Her films are about gender issues, environment, Aboriginal communities, education & culture of the Indian subcontinent. She started as a journalist and worked with 'India Express' for 7 years. As a journalist who travelled the length and breath of her country digging people's narratives from the margins and mainstreaming them finally found her niche in the documentary.
