I'm a documentarian and video journalist based in San Francisco. I've been working to produce high-quality video for the past decade focusing on conflict and social movements. My work has taken me across the globe including the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and all over the US. I like to find stories not yet told, and at the very least exploring new dimensions. The subjects must have social relevancy and not only draw attention to the subject, but also highlight how those affected are responding, reacting, and challenging their conditions. I don't like to sensationalize a story. I seek to analyze its roots and look at the broader implications of whatever conflict I may be addressing. I believe that video is one the most effective and dynamic mediums to transmit information, and I attempt to utilize it to its full potential. I'm proud of what I've produced and am anxious to pursue new opportunities to create new works with Storyhunter.

I am an American photographer, videographer and educator. My photography and video focuses on issues related to social justice, frequently in relation to immigration and deportation. My work has been exhibited in both the United States and Mexico. I was chosen as a Summer Resident at the Academia de Artes Visuales in Mexico City. I received an Honorable Mention as an Emerging Photojournalist by PROOF in 2013. I attended St. Mary's College of Maryland, the SALT Institute of Documentary Studies and the Academia de Artes Visuales.

I am Claudia Escobar and I like creating and following stories, making things and trying to find where reality meets magic. I am the director of the documentary Dear Homeland, produced by KQED. Currently I am producing a series with AJ+ Español about decolonization in Latin America together with it’s creator Paula Daibert, and In the past years I had been focused on making short documentary and experimental works about Bay Area artists and culture makers for KQED Arts. With the work I did with the arts team I had been nominated for three local Emmy's and I had won one, I had also won a Webby for the series I co-created together with Kelly Whalen, If Cities Could Dance. About Kelly W.

Kelly Whalen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and multimedia storyteller with more than 20 years of experience producing for national PBS, MSNBC, NPR, the New York Times, and the Guardian. She is currently the Senior Producer of Arts and Culture at KQED, where she covers creative communities through a lens of equity and justice. She is the creator of the award-winning national series If Cities Could Dance, featuring movement artists across the country who represent their cities' identity and cultural traditions through dance. She has extensive international reporting experience, including working in Central and Eastern European countries working with Roma journalists and University of Miami students to produce documentary videos to increase the visibility of discrimination and other problems that Europe’s Roma communities face and to promote their social inclusion. (This work was part of her appointment as Visiting Knight Chair in Visual Journalism at UM.) For many years, Kelly was a producer at Not In Our Town, a national PBS documentary series and grassroots organizing project to help communities better respond to and prevent hate crimes and acts of bigotry. Her other work has explored police abuse of powers and racial injustices in the criminal justice system.

Jean-Philippe "J.P." Dobrin is a documentary filmmaker and photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. For over a decade, he has specialized in human interest stories for non-profit, advertising and editorial outlets. His work has been the published by the New York Times, Time Magazine, KQED and the International Rescue Committee. He has worked in India, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia, South America and around the United States to capture visuals of everyday life. He became passionate for documentary work while completing his BFA in photography at the Academy of Art San Francisco. He went on to learn documentary film at the U.C. Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
