hello, I am a producer/director/filmmaker/visual storyteller. My heart work is in cultural documentaries, both long and short form. I learned my craft working in public television and then as an independent. I like finding stories that give voice to issues through intimate encounters with everyday people. I like to understand complex stories and focus them into accessible pieces. As people tell me their stories and share their intimate feelings, I understand that these stories can change the world. Angela Jimenez is freelance visual storyteller (still photography, motion, audio and production) based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she works on assignments and on documentary projects for non-profit and editorial clients. A long-time contributor to The New York Times, Angela is a contract photographer with the Getty Images creative department, does work with Minnesota Public Radio and has worked as a photo editor at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. She has published two monographs of her photography: Welcome Home: Building the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival (2009), about the worker community of one of the oldest and largest lesbian-feminist gatherings in the world, and Racing Age (2017), a collection of essays and photographs about competitive masters track & field athletes age 60 and older. Fábio Erdos is a Brazilian documentary filmmaker and photographer member of Panos Pictures, one of the world's leading independent and award-winning photographic agencies. In 2019, Fábio won a World Press Photo award for the film "Marielle and Monica", produced for The Guardian, and in 2021 he was invited to serve as a jury member for the World Press Photo Digital Storytelling Contest. His films have been shown at several festivals, like GLAAD (New York), One World Media (UK), La Gacilly Photo Festival (France), the Museum of Tomorrow, the Museum of Modern Art (Rio de Janeiro), and he was shortlisted for the IDA Documentary Awards. ​ Previous to his film and photography career, Fábio worked for the international non-profit ActionAid for many years, where he gained experience in grassroots work on poverty and social inequality. During this time he worked in rural communities in Northeast Brazil, a region that suffers from one of the worst droughts in the last 50 years, in Haiti, a year after the devastating earthquake of 2010, and in the rural communities of Mozambique. She is the former editor of the Twin Cities Daily Planet, an award winning online publication, producer for Ampers and reporter for KFAI radio in Minneapolis. She’s an independent radio and video producer for various public radio and television stations throughout Minnesota. She recently worked with KBFT radio on the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa reservation in northern Minnesota to produce a series of shows about art, culture, history and the environment. She’s currently wrapping up a reporting project about Native American communities in Oklahoma called Invisible Nations. She’s also completing a documentary about Ojibwe painter Jim Denomie.
