Angelos Tsaousis is a producer, director and documentary filmmaker working both on commissioned and personal projects since 2006. I’m an eight years experienced freelance Video Journalist and Cameraman/Editor and I'm currently based in Rome: I regularly work with APTN, AJE, NBC and CBS among the others: I I’m used to work independently as I shoot, script and edit television news stories and packages and, obviously ftp them: I’ve been involved in all the major breaking-news stories, so I’m also used to tight deadlines and to high pressure situations. Since the beginning of 2013 October I took part in several productions (APTN, AJE) focusing on the immigration topic; I worked in Southern Italy filming the arrival of thousands of migrants on the shores of Calabria, Puglia, Sicily and Lampedusa, I took part to the Italian Navy “ Mare Nostrum” Search & Rescue operation and to the UE Frontex operation from Pantelleria. in August I was also sent by Al-Jazeera to cover the Palestinian-Israel conflict in the Occupied Territories and in Israel for one month, achieving a good knowledge of hostile environments.

As a highly-motivated journalist and videomaker, I have been reporting on international news, development, human rights and environment in Latin America and Italy since 2012. My bylines include digital outlets and news agencies such as: AlJazeera.com, El País, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Vice, Narratively and Ruptly. As far as Italy is regarded, my work has been featured on prominent media such as Repubblica TV, L'Espresso, Internazionale and Linkiesta. These experiences have enabled me to take care of the whole video production process, so I am used to script, shoot and edit my packages and documentaries independently. Since 2014 I have been focusing on online videos and interactive journalistic formats, and for this work I was awarded an Innovation in Development reporting grant and a King of Spain Honorable mention. In addition to Italian, I have professional proficiency in Spanish and English. I am currently based in Rome, where I hold a position as video producer at the Italian Parliament. However, I like to consider myself always open to new exciting and innovative projects, should they arise. I got my degree in film studies at ISAMM- Tunis in 2006 and a Masters in 2011. I am a director of photography who does commercial, narrative and doc work. For me, camera movement and composition is just as important as lighting. How a frame moves into the next frame. To try to make the camera movement a part of the emotional connection of the talent in the films. So are lenses and color in creating mood. I can understand the needs of the director since I make my own films as well. I understand their dedication to their ideas and their drive, that I work to augment. And if you are a producer reading this, I completely understand your needs as well and think you are wonderful. I take on every project with as much energy as humanly possible. Cinematography is my passion, along with 3D and 2D software, photography and gaming. I'm based in Tunis but available to travel. I work on all projects, big and small.

I am an Italian independent filmmaker based in Italy. I come from an academic/journalistic background: I researched in History, Politics and Social Studies during my university years in Rome and London and reported from the Middle East and Africa. The first time I approached filmmaking was just a couple of years ago and it was a revelation. I understood that what I was really looking for were peoples personal stories mirroring the macro events I researched and witnessed during my academic years and working experience. Since then, I built a team of professionals with the same targets and interests and with whom I am currently collaborating. At the moment, I am working on a documentary about the global market of khat, a natural amphetamine cultivated in the Horn of Africa. But with the recent dramatic political changes in the Mediterranean area, I am looking forward to focus on my country, engaging with little-known and underreported stories of migration, environment and human rights.

He won also the “All About Photo 2018”prize for the “Travel” category with a photo from Humanitarian motor vessel “Open Arms”, “Premio Amerigo 2017” for the category “photojournalism” with the reportage “Postcards from New York” and the “Premio Montesacro 2015” ad “Best Book of the Year” with the photobook “Be Filmaker a Gaza”. He won two honorable mentions from “Asia South East - Short Film Festival' and 'Canada Shorts - Canadian International Short Film Festival' with the short film "Bia" and two honorable mentions from “ND awards” and from the contest of “The Indipendent Photographer” with the photo-reportage from the Humanitarian motor vessel “Open Arms”. He has made numerous music videos with Italian and Palestinian singer/songwriters and has published two books of short stories and photography, "Bar(n)Out" published by New Culture and "Be Filmmaker in Gaza" published by "Ass. Dario holds a BA in Journalism, two Master Classes (Photo and Video) at DMJX, Denmark and a MA in Visual and Media Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin. He mainly focuses on migrations and displacement. In the past years, he has collaborated with some of the most respected institutions in documentary photography, including interning at NOOR Images and working at 10b Photography and Metrography. In 2015, while working as the photo-editor of Metrography in Iraq, he co-produced the web-documentary Map of Displacement.
