After 10 years working globally as a freelance photojournalist, Travis Beard first visited Afghanistan in November 2001, where he contracted the ‘so called’ Afghan Bug. He subsequently moved to Kabul permanently in 2006 where he taught at the country’s first media school – AINA. He went onto co-found a skateboard school – Skateistan; that won an Oscar for best short documentary in 2019. Under Travis’ company Argus he also co-founded a street art school – Wallords and the country’s first contemporary music & arts festival – Sound Central Festival 2011 – 2013. Travis’ debut feature documentary, ROCKABUL focused on the music scene in Afghanistan told through the perspective of the Afghan band, District Unknown, had its World Premiere at the prestigious Rotterdam International Film Festival 2018. It has since screen at 49 festivals around the world and won multiple awards. Travis was a camera operator in production of KABUL AT WORK (2013), FRAME BY FRAME (2015) and AFGHAN CYCLES (2017). Travis also contributed to post-production on MOTELY'S LAW (2015), JIRGA (2018) Travis is currently co-producing a film about metal bands in the conservative society of South Korea called “K-POP KILLERS”. As well as working on his second feature film COGS OF WAR and is has 3 other films in development focused around subject mater from North Korea, CoVid19 and Sustainable Vegan Lifestyle in Tasmania. He is currently writing his first book about his motorcycle touring in Afghanistan entitled: The Bullet is faster than the Bike. Travis also has two music band projects Major Delay in Melbourne and PPP in Europe. Both are releasing material this year. He was also accepted into a music residency voyage in the Arctic Circle for 2020

I’m a colorist/editor who has worked in post-production for more than ten years, both, on set and chained to a computer at all hours. Seven of those years were spent in Los Angeles working in advertising and freelancing on other projects in my spare time. I have worked across all formats and genres from TVCs and Music Videos to Feature length and Short Films. I’ve graded projects for clients including ESPN, Showtime, HBO, Netflix, Amazon, and National Geographic. I’ve also worked on Music Videos for such artist as Peaches, Tegan & Sara, Bell’s Roar and Buddy. I studied Communication & Cinema Studies at Northeastern University. Additionally, I taught color theory and grading at one of the top film programs worldwide at Loyola Marymount University. I enjoy being a Jane of All Trades and am always willing to learn new skills. I looooove working on all stories but have a particular passion for uplifting stories by women, people of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Now Melbourne based, I live with my partner, Casey, and our son, Henry. David Rusanow is a cinematographer and director currently living in Melbourne, Australia.
