EMILIA MELLO (director/producer/photographer) is a Brazilian-American filmmaker raised between West Virginia and São Paulo. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in Biology and in Latin American Studies. Her first foray into film brought her to black tarp camps of the MST, a communist agrarian reform movement in Brazil. She has since produced for Norwegian reality TV, commercials, and short documentaries as well as for the Oscar nominated documentary film, Wasteland. She is working on her first feature documentary about a peninsula in southeastern Rio state.

I am a video-maker that loves searching for good stories, specially the ones dealing with political and social issues. In 2013 and 2014, I worked as a TeleSUR correspondent in São Paulo as a reporter but also shooting, videographying and video editing. During this period, I covered the June manifestations of 2013; the World Cup in Brazil in 2014; and the Brazilian presidential elections in 2014. I also participated in larger journalistic works for television, as for example, producing part of the Pachamama Program for Muzungu Producciones Audiovisuales. Before being a television reporter, I worked for 5 years as a freelance journalist for the Brazilian and international independent press. I am part of Desinformémonos. The stories in "The Surreal Genocid of the Guarani Kaiowas", written for the magazine Revista Caros Amigos Especial was one of the finalist of the respected Brazilian Anatel and Anamatra awards. Paula Sacchetta graduated in journalism at Sao Paulo University (USP), has worked for Globo, TV Brasil, O Estado de São Paulo newspaper and O2 Filmes. Paula won the Amnesty and Human Rights Vladimir Herzog Award in the magazine category, for an article about the National Truth Commission published in a special edition of the Caros Amigos magazine in 2012. She has directed "Truth 12.528", a documentary on the Brazilian National Truth Commission and The more prisoners, greater profit. Diego Lajst has graduated in photography and has been producing and directing short commercials and documentaries for the web since 2009. As part of the Galeria Experiencia collective, he created videos for Folha de São Paulo, O Estado de São Paulo and other important media outlets. He's working since 2014 in a web series about the water crisis in São Paulo metropolitan region, called Volume Vivo, whose first two chapters have been shown in festivals in town.

I'm, a self-shooting documentary film maker with over 15 years of experience. I graduated with a First from film school in London in 2000, and spent 10 years working in the British television industry. During this time I developed an original series for MTV, an original series fro Channel 5 as well as several one-off documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4. I progressed to directing several large-scale productions including a prime-time BBC One series, "Wallace and Gromit's World of Adventure". I moved to São Paulo, Brazil in 2011 where I began working as senior producer at Vice Brasil's video content department. This involved producing short-form online content for their website as well as directing several branded content campaigns for global names such as Coca-Cola, Ray Ban and Absolut. I left Vice Brasil in 2013 and set up Zumbi Filmes, an independent production company catering for national and international clients such as Globo TV, Universal Pictures, HBO and Vice.

Fernanda Pessoa is a Brazilian filmmaker, working primarily on documentary, experimental cinema and videoinstallations. PhD candidate at University of São Paulo (ECA/USP), she holds a MFA in Film Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, under Philippe Dubois’ direction. In 2017, Pessoa released her first feature documentary "Stories our cinema did (not) tell”, screened and awarded in several international festivals, distributed by Brazilian Netflix. Her second long documentary “Arid Zone” received an Honorable Mention at Dok Leipzig and is available in international streamings. She was a Berlinale Talents in 2019. Her work has been screened in some of the main documentary festivals in the world, such as IDFA, RIDM, DOC NYC, DocLisboa, Brasilia Film Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Cinélatino Toulouse, and in institutions as BIENALSUR, REDCAT/CalArts, IMS (Institut Moreira Salles) São Paulo’s Museum of Sound and Image, Paço das artes, among others. She’s currently working on the documentary “Swing and Sway”, supported by the Visions Sud Est Fund and selected for the Sheffield Doc Arts Talent Market, for Arché at DocLisboa and the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum, and on a short film called “Order prevails”, commissioned by the Videoart Award at Fundação Joaquim Nabuco.
